Looking for the Best Beer Puller in the Basque Country

The aspirants to the title of best beer puller in the Basque Country can register as of this week to participate in the Estrella Galicia Draught Beer Pulling Championship, a regional phase that will allow the winner to have an opportunity to compete for the national title in the final to be held in Madrid in April.

The contest will be held on Monday 1 December from 10am in the Carlton Hotel in Bilbao. Participation is open to those professionals who, in representation of their respective premises or companies, are located anywhere in the region. Registration can be carried out on the Estrella Galicia web page before November 22.

The jury, made up of professionals from the beer sector, and the bar and restaurant sector, will have to work hard to evaluate the quality and excellence in the service of those who aspire to win the title, as well as their knowledge regarding beer. Each exercise will be analysed and points will be awarded for previously announced parameters, style and technique of beer pulling, the degree of perfection when carrying out the tasks and final presentation.

The five finalists will receive a prize of their weight in beer. The winner will receive €600, and the runner up €400. There will also be three consolation prizes of €150. All the finalists will receive a diploma accrediting their classification, and the winner and runner-up will directly qualify for the Spanish Championship, with paid travel and living expenses.

Estrella Galicia rewards professionalism and quality in the serving of beer.

Following the success of the first edition, Estrella Galicia has decided to test the ability and the quality of service of catering professionals in Spain with the aim of rewarding the talent and effort of bartenders when serving the product in optimum conditions for the consumer to enjoy.

The grand final will be held in Madrid, within the XXIX Salón de Gourmets, Feria Internacional de Alimentación y Bebidas de Calidad (International Fine Food and Drink Fair) which will take place from 13 to 16 April 2015, with representatives from all the Spanish regions. In the previous edition, the skills of the participants and the excitement of the public turned the contest into one of the focal points of the international Salón.

On this occasion, Estrella Galicia will hold regional stages in some of the autonomous communities. In Andalusia (which took place on September 28), the Basque Country (December 1), Levante, Galicia, and Madrid, the best representatives of each region will be chosen to compete in the national final.

The aim of this championship is to promote beer culture and acknowledge the work carried out by bartenders as a fundamental link in the distribution chain of Estrella Galicia products. Professionalism in catering establishments is fundamental to offer end consumers the full range of possibilities a premium beer beer mastersuch as Estrella Galicia has to offer.

 

Beer Master Estrella Galicia

This event will be held within the frame of the Beer Master Estrella Galicia sessions during which there will also be other activities such as tastings, beer and tapas pairings, and chats to raise knowledge about beer culture aimed at professionals.

In addition, on Friday 14 November, Bilbao caterers will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talent in making tapas which are made or paired with Estrella Galicia premium beers in the contest Bilbao E-Tapas. In this contest, the company will reward the culinary skills of over 30 participants.
